Visit the Al Fahidi Fort

The Al Fahidi Fort is considered the oldest building still standing in Dubai, dating from around 1787. It hosts the Dubai Museum, which is the main museum in Dubai. Its galleries display the general land culture, mainly from the 1800s. It also showcases local antiquities and artifacts from African and Asian countries which traded with the emirate. The museum also displays several dioramas portraying life in Dubai prior to the development of oil, as well as artifacts dating from the year 3000 BC.
